I've been considering a desk like this as I spend 12 hours sitting in front of the computer every day. Discovered this longevity section with some articles on the website. It definitely makes sense, sitting for most of the day can't be good for the body.. this is a novel solution.

You'll probably like this blog post: http://quantifiedself.com/2012/03/the-computational-quantified-self-a-qa-with-stephen-wolfram/

Also Steelcase makes a fairly expensive model. Personally I would want one that allowed me to pull over a bar stool eventually to sit on too. Don't know if that's an option with these.

There's this too: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22719846

I wish I could use something similar at my job.

Stephen Wolfram is awesome, I didn't know he tracked his own stats like that! I'm quite surprised how many people are using treadmill desks.. Micheal Arrington of TechCrunch, and Kevin Rose (Digg founder) also use them.

Nice study, also.

Steelcase makes a sit-to-walkstation as well. One I've been looking at is: http://www.thehumansolution.com/uplift-treadmill-desk.html - or potentially building my own. It's not a very popular thing in Canada yet... but the treadmill shop I called this weekend mentioned that they had 3 people asking about treadmill desks this week, so something seems to be raising interest in them.

Here's a social network about it: http://officewalkers.ning.com/

Yeah its absolutely right, I also read an article on this topic and after knowing its harmful effects on our body I bought an adjustable desk from Flexispot coupon, and I really feel much better after working on a standing desk.
